Tired

I haven't blogged for a few days.  I haven't slept in my own bed since Sunday!!  The babies are being very restless at night and it has not been fun.  I'm not sure if it is teething, reflux or something else?  Anyway, the couch has been my bed for the past 3 nights.
Here are the babies at 1.30am!
I wonder if it will be my bed again tonight?  Lucky my osteopath is coming next week......

Double lucky my bubba's are SO cute xxx

It was Alex's 23rd Birthday on Saturday.  Oh my, how time flies away.  I can't believe she is 23!!!
She is a gorgeous girl, here is a cute pic of her at our wedding, holding baby Michael - 2009

I am now confident enough to say we made it through the hell of 13yo - ~20yo.  YAY (although goodness knows how many grey hairs she gave me - ummm A LOT!!!)  We still have "fun" every now and again, but all in all it's pretty good now :-)   (touch wood)

Her Dad is flying her down to Sydney for a festival, I am paying for the tickets to the festival as her Birthday pressie.  I will get to see her when she is down which will be great.

Can't wait!

10 months of TWINS

I cannot believe that Rhys and Ben are 10 months old today.  It has gone super quick.  They are growing so very fast.  Ben is crawling and has been since April.  Rhys has 5 teeth - 3 at the top and 2 at the bottom and has just started to crawl.  Both the boys commando crawl.  Ben uses one arm and one leg, Rhys is only using his arms at the moment (so is a little slow - but he only started crawling last week)!
Ben & Rhys 10 months
They are completely different children in every way, including looks.  Ben has lots of hair, which is light brown and Rhys has short hair, which is dark brown/black.

Ben 10 mths

Ben has quite a feisty personality.  When he wants something, he wants it NOW!!  And lets everyone know about it.  He loves cuddles, but only for a second and then off he goes.  He is a great eater, but still doesn't have any teeth.  He is a huge mummy's boy - if he is upset, all he wants is me.

Look at those teeth - he looks a bit feral LOL!

Rhys has a very laid back personality.  He is happy to sit and wait and watch the world go buy.  He loves cuddling and will sit on your lap for ages.  He loves kisses too.  He isn't a very good eater, but loves his bottles of milk.  He is a mummy's boy too, but not as bad a Ben.  He looks exactly like Michael as a little baby, they could be identical twins.

Jemma and Ben having a cuddle

Jemma loves her brothers.  I don't know if she will be too keen on them all in about a years time.  Hmmm 12 year olds and 2 year olds don't really mix do they?

Michael eating M&M's that Daddy got him for a treat YUM YUM!

Michael loves his brothers too, they love him back.  They all love to play together.

Happy 10 months old little guys xxxx

I love my family

A wet long weekend

It was the Queen's Birthday long weekend and it was a lovely day on Saturday, but then went to cold, rainy, horrible weather.

Greg and Michael went to a model train display at the Brickpit Sports Centre at Thornleigh on Sunday.  They had a lovely time.

Look Dad, I can touch Thomas

Ben, Rhys and I were going to go along too, but Ben got a virus and was up most of the night with a fever and wasn't feeling well at all in the morning.  I think it was a 24hr virus, because by the afternoon, he was back to himself - happily crawling around!  We decided that he was better at home when not well, because with Ben, if he doesn't feel well he is good at letting everyone know about it - usually in the form of screaming very loudly!!!

Unfortunately, this also meant that I couldn't make any soap (as I had planned) because I was so exhausted. I went to bed early instead!

Greg and Michael made it to the park before the rain set in - they had to run for the car when it arrived!
Playing at the local school on the rocks

Having some hot chips on the play equipment
I decided to make some cupcakes, which I stuffed up because I put too much mixture in the cases, so they were a bit big.  This was my first attempt at icing them using my "gun" type icing gadget.  Not too bad for a first attempt.  They tasted great!
Icing a bit dodgy, but practice makes perfect LOL

They tasted very yummy.  The icing was very rich though

Greg go some work done on his motorbike as it needed a service.  Not sure what he did and I don't "get" mechanics, but apparently it is all good.
Doing the valves - whatever that means!

I guess this shows the valves? (which were good he tells me - I have no idea)

All in all a bit of a lazy weekend with miserable weather.  We kept nice and warm with the fire going.  Back to reality tomorrow!

Winter is here

It's getting cold now and we have had the fire on for quite a few nights.  We had a heap of kindling thanks to one of Greg's friends taking down his fence and us scoring all the wood, but we were low on the "good" wood that burns all night - basically you add a log and it will burn all night, add another and it will burn all day - so you don't use a whole lot of wood but you stay warm.  We had to buy some and get it delivered.
This will last us all winter I hope.  There is more in the garage so I can just pop down there and grab a bit when needed.  I love a wood fire - it is so warm and I can get all my washing dry when I put it on the racks that I have.  The lounge looks like a Chinese laundry but I don't care (I have a LOT of laundry!).

I have some nice flowers at the front door when you walk in and I bought a cool little solar butterfly which flutters when the sun shines on the panel.  It is SO cute and quite real too.  It makes our cottage look quite cute when you come to the front door.

We bought a carport recently to put at the front of the house as I was always getting wet putting the kids in or out of the car when it rained.  Greg put it up and did a fantastic job.  It was a nigthmare - not good instructions with parts that sometimes didn't line up!!!  Agggrrrhh  I saw Greg at his most frustrated, he said never again will he put up a fancy carport like that again BUT he did the best job and it looks brilliant!!

On the weekend we went over to Mum and Dads new house.  They moved in on Monday 28 May.  They downsized from their other place, which was gorgeous but a lot of work in the garden, to this place.  It is not as nice looking as their other place, but it is low maintenance and they can concentrate on travel and hobbies - golf & bingo.  I think it is perfect for them!  Of course I forgot to take pictures but here is one of the place from the REA.

I have made some new soap which is still in the mould so I will take some pictures and put them on here and on my Soaptastic Soap blog (which has been a bit neglected lately but I hope to rectify this soon).

Here are some photos of Michael, he is such a gorgeous little man.
