A blog post a week 17/52 - Lessons of the past - Endgame

Hello again

Another week has rolled by and with it comes unexpected happenings.

Michael got a "big boy" haircut.

We usually go with the clipper cut all over the head but he said he didn't want this and wanted a style cut at the hairdressers.

He looks so much bigger and older and just lovely.
LOL

Greg and I went to see Avengers - Endgame

We have watched this Marvel series from the start - Iron Man - approx 11 years ago.  Prior to Greg and I having children.  I remember my cheap crappy vacuum cleaner blew up on the night we were going to see it.  RDJ got his second chance and absolutely OWNED the role.

What a talented guy.

Greg has seen them all.  I have seen all the Iron Man and bits and pieces of the other movies (possibly 22 in total or something like that???)

It was a great movie.  I followed along well, but you need to be up on your Marvel movies.  There were a couple of times I didn't "get" it.  We will watch it again when it comes out electronically - lots of twists and turns.

Loved it though. And yes, it is an Endgame for some.
😭😭

And, completely unexpectedly, I have had another Endgame in my life (I'm still kind of gobsmacked TBH).  I did debate putting this on here, but since this is my record of happenings, I decided to write about what has happened to me.

A good friend (or so I thought) of 10 years or so has been ranting about her hate for Trump, the Liberal Party Aust and the upcoming election over the past few months on FB.  That is absolutely fine - we live in a free country and I don't really follow any party or anything.  She is a very passionate person - which is one of the things I love about her.

Then after yet another post about how great the Labor Party & a particular pollie was, I commented about how this particular pollie had gone against her values (for both of them - friend and pollie) a number of years ago, that IMO they are all a pack of dickheads & I had no idea who I would vote for.  To me it was just letting her know that politicians in Australia are just really looking after themselves and can change their tune once it suits them or the party.  Pretty much standard politics really.  She proceeded to tell me that I must NOT to vote Liberal and threatened to lose me as a friend over it.  Plus a rant about them (Liberal's) being old, entitled, white, privileged, bigots etc????

Penny Wong Backflip
Bob Brown and Penny Wong

I admit I was a bit shocked with the aggressive outburst, but you know, she's a passionate person.  But I never said I was voting for anyone in particular & I don't need someone to tell me what to do.

BTW it wasn't my OPINION, it was FACT

So I told her "Please don't tell me how to vote" (we don't do that in Australia - it's a free country) and that "I am not stupid"(I can make my own well thought out decisions) and "I know what is right"(I know the difference between right and wrong).

No big deal and I went to help the kids with something.......

So, for that, she deleted me as a friend.

And then publicly called me a

"Liberal Bigot"

Then she deleted Greg (obviously he is one too???)

This is someone who had told me that I was a friend who she classed as family.....  I guess no longer.

Someone who I helped out numerous times, in many ways over the past 10 years, without any question or hesitation.
I could go on about it.... but I will just say:

Here's a tip: a real friend doesn't call friends mean names and delete them off FB!
Also, you are not passionate - you are full of hatred and your hate overwhelms any rational thought you may ever have & it violently spews out - even onto people you have said you care about & who really cared about you and your family.
Once/If you come down from your hateful mania, you "may" see what you have done.  But maybe not.  I really don't care.

I learn't my lesson from the past and you are now wiped from our life forever.

AND

FYI
I haven't voted for the Libs for years (and wasn't planning on doing it again - but maybe now I will..... y'know, since I'm a Liberal Bigot and all that.....???!!!)

Have a great week 💗

A blog post a week 16/52 - more friends...........and enemies

It's a funny thing isn't it

FRIENDS

and

ENEMIES

I've had them all.

I got a call from my poor sister this week after her arsehole neighbour decided to come over and abuse her because her daughter was squealing & having fun on the trampoline (in the school holidays!!!).  According to dickhead, she needed to discipline her daughter and all the neighbours thought it.

Of course, like any good bully, he waited for my BIL to head off to work and not be there.

Not the first time -  he has done something similar before - again waiting until BIL wasn't home.

Shame they didn't take this advice!

So dear BIL had his important meeting and drove back from Brisbane to SORT SHIT OUT!!

And called said arsehole "a sad, small, little bully" amongst other words that needed to be said.
There's history there - my sister let the bully get away with too much and he got too big for his boots.
Not anymore.

Another miserable, self entitled, old fart that just seriously needs to DIE.
I might have to send some universe Karma requests.......
(the last few I've done have worked perfectly)

I can't believe that is has been 2 years since we moved up here to Queensland.

Best move ever!

I never ever thought this would happen.

But I was stuck in such a rut, I couldn't see past where I was at.

Thank goodness this mentality (mental thought process more like it) changed and I never want to go back to being like that ever again.

I caught up with two lovely friends over the week.

I had a lovely coffee catch up with an old workmate from the Library I worked in at Sydney.

Marie is a lovely lady and we got along really well.  It was lovely to meet up with her and her daughter and husband (forgot to take a photo!!  We were talking too much 😊

Then my good friend Courtney came to stay with her husband and 3 kids.  They boys had a great time and her and I got to catch up and have a bit of a stitch and bitch.

I bought some vegan treats for us to try.  My favourite was the Salted Caramel - it was delicious.  They were nice but, if you're not used to vegan food, an acquired taste I think 😏  Greg wasn't overly fussed.  But if you are vegan - yummo!

They were beautifully presented - the photos don't do them justice.  From https://www.rosebedandfinch.com.au/

Look who came to visit the boys.  The Easter Bunny!

We went to see Shazam! the movie.  The boys had a great time.  It was a good movie.

A blog post a week 15/52 - Friends

Another week has flown by...

Soy Chai YUM!  I love soy milk (not many people do)

I caught up with some friends for a delicious lunch at Kunara Cafe http://www.kunara.com.au/cafe/  If you're every up this way it is really nice.  I had wonderful company and we chatted for about 3 hours.  Lovely.

This is an organic/vegan type cafe and garden centre and it also has a really interesting supermarket type shop as well with all sorts of vegan, organic, cruelty free options. It's only about 15 minutes drive from my place.

My work!
I worked Wednesday, Thursday and Friday which was good.  My supervisor came over on Thursday so it was great to see her (and yes, she is really lovely, so I actually mean it LOL).  It's school holidays here so it is a bit quiet at work and nothing exciting eventuated.

The detail in this was absolutely off the wall!!!

I thought this one was quite funky

On Saturday I went along to a Craft show called CraftAlive.  It was ok, but was more tailored to the quilting, stamping, scrapbooking people - of which I am not.  They had a quilt display and some of the work was just fantastic.  There are some very talented people out there!

I bought myself some new earrings as a treat to myself!

These go perfectly with a new skirt that I have bought (pic to come)

I think my sister would love these ones

I just loved these as they are so unusual

These ones with the tassels go with a really beautiful skirt that I have bought myself and the other two are by a seller in Darwin called Salvation Jewellery and she makes really funky earrings.  They are quite in demand (and a bit exy!), but I really loved these so got them.

I have a friend who works in polymer clay and she is going to show me how to use it (and I will show her how to crochet), so I might be able to make my own designs one day 😊

I was only thinking the other day about how lucky I am to have some lovely people around me.  Although I probably don't have a "best friend" here, I am lucky to have some people who I would consider friends now.  I am very grateful for that.  I'm really happy that I have a "best friend" & family coming to stay in a couple of days and I am meeting up with another friend (from my old workplace in Sydney) over the weekend.  Of course I have my wonderful family up here and I chat to my girls every week.

I am lucky!

It's been school holidays here and the boys have been having a quiet time and sleeping in.

Thoughts for the week:

Not so much family but people you know..............

Have a great week 💗

A blog post a week (oops this one is a fortnight!) 13-14/52 - Changing seasons

Oops - I didn't do a blog last week.

I was feeling a LOT better but I was still crazy busy and in the name of NOT stressing myself, I decided that I would not put up a blog for last week.

Things are good now and I'm not stressed at all anymore.

SO

OK - back to normal programming!!!!!

Boo hiding in the garage

See the two little goldfish in the middle! Love them

Our goldfish must have had babies!!  When we bought the house, there was a pond with 5 little goldfish and 1 little black bottom dweller fish.  The were the size you get in the local aquarium.

These little fish, grew into quite BIG fish over the last 2 years.

Then last month we were looking in the tank and OMG there were two little goldfish in there!  The big ones must have had two babies 😁

One was black and the other was orange and black, but over the past month they are now both orange and have grown quite a lot bigger.

How cute and they are doing well.

We went for a drive to Maleny Dairies on the weekend.  We didn't do a tour as we had just missed one and it was over an hour until the next one.

The boys loved patting the animals and sitting on the tractor.

One of my big Peace Lily plants had become root bound, so we took it out of the pot, chopped it in half and re-potted the two plants.  I now have one out the front and the other remains out the back.

I made some Banana Bread and some Chocolate Brownies (the chocolate brownies got eaten before I could get a picture!)

We have been having a lot of rain over the past two weeks.  See how long the grass got (all fixed now).

The weather has started to cool now too and after it being so horribly hot (all over Qld and NSW) it is absolutely beautiful weather here at the moment!
Can't have a rainbow without some rain

Almost the last swim for the season - getting quite cool now.

Thoughts for the week:

And you will always have to live with that choice........
If I am ever toxic to anyone - they earned that shit let me tell you
Have a great week 💗
