Just surviving - but will return

Hello readers

I am suffering some life changing events at the moment.  And it seems I don't handle life changing events too well.  I will update when these are over, which hopefully will be by the next month.

Thank goodness for supportive husbands, family and friends.  Everyone is ok and I am ok.

I look forward to new beginnings and leaving the last toxic 12 months behind.

A nice day after a challenging week

This week has been a challenging week for me.  Some weeks the pressure seems to get to you and it is difficult.  I have had one of those weeks.

Of course, if you look at our life in the scheme of things, it is fantastic!  But sometimes the hurdles are hard to get over and the positive side of life leaves me behind.............  Hopefully things will be on track soon.

I made a beautiful slow cooker pot of chicken, bacon and veggie soup.  I had this for dinner tonight and it was delicious.  I am going to freeze it for lunches at work and quick dinners.  Yum.

We went for a little walk yesterday evening, along a track.  The boys loved it.
Jumping on the rock - sadly it all went to tears after this photo - Ben didn't want to go home

Today, we went for a lovely drive to the Central Coast.  We had hot chips overlooking the lake, fed the seagulls and went for a walk across the bridge and onto a little island.

Sadly Mr Ben decided to put on a performance and wouldn't get out of it, so we didn't spend as much time as we would have liked, but it was still nice. We travelled back to home via the back roads that I had never been down before.

I was spoilt for Mothers Day.  I received some little gifts from the twins and I got some of my favourite ice creams and lollies.  I also bought a new sewing machine as my 30yo one had died and I really wanted a new one.

I also made some very yummy banana bread and has this for breakfast with my yummy Campo's coffee.  Heaven!

Have a lovely week!

Making a bit of cash and giving away a bit too

I made a little bit of money this weekend.  Not much, but $30 (so far).  I did this by selling some of my old "stuff" on a buy and sell site.

If you can get a little bit of cash for some of your old stuff, how good is that.  It didn't take me too long to do as I have a smart phone (which I LOVE) and it upload photos easily.

I have a few more things on the site that may or may not sell.  If they don't then I will give them away.  I gave away a bunch of stuff as well today.  A poor lady had fallen on tough times and she had nothing for her children.  I gave her friend some of Jemma's clothes that she had outgrown.  I also gave away a toddler bed, lots of baby clothes and we gave the op shop some baby stuff and some of my old clothes (there were some very nice pieces in there too).  It is a good feeling giving away "stuff" that you no longer use.

It has turned freezing here this weekend.  We have resisted lighting the fire so far although many of our neighbours had theirs going.  I don't know if I can hold out much longer if this weather keeps up though, but I think it's going to be warmer again soon.

Stay warm everyone!

Blue Mountains trip and busy busy

The beautiful mountains

I promised that I would update the blog regularly, which I want to and will do, except when things get a little too busy.  With commitments and sick children it has been super crazy!

I don't think I have mentioned, but I took a trip up to the Blue Mountains to catch up with a friend of mine last weekend.  Part of that visit was so my son could be part of some filming for a media promotion project she is managing.  It has to do with inclusion as well, so he was perfect for this due to him having Fragile X Syndrome.  He went on a wonderful horse ride which he loved.  The horse riding people were fantastic and the kids had a ball.

Then on the Tuesday, we went up there again for the launch of the promotion.  From where we are, the mountains are a two hour drive each way!!!  It was a big day again.  It was held at the Carrington Hotel which was absolutely BEAUTIFUL!

I then had a meeting after work which went very late on the Wednesday and Thursday was a getting organised day (plus I worked both days).  Friday one of the boys wouldn't have a sleep, so I just didn't get a break LOL.

It has turned very cold here today.  It is windy, a little overcast and freezing.  It has been raining too.  This weekend we are going through old clothes and toys as we have a lot that are a bit little for the kids now.  No more babies in this house, so we want to de-clutter!

Gorgeous

Things should be settling down a bit now.  Michael is back at school and hopefully the boys are all back into their routines!
