The Playroom

Finally, eh our Playroom reveal.

We lurrrrrve our home - it is in a lovely little suburb and is a cul de sac off a cul de sac (which means not very much traffic).  We are close to the bushland and close to the Hawkesbury River (approx 10 mins by car).  There are lots of families, four primary schools to pick from, bus around the corner and the train station is a short bus or car trip.  The local shops are a 10 min walk away and the BIG shops are 15mins away by car.

When we found out we were having the twin boys, we realised that we really didn't have enough space.  After Rhys and Ben were born and on the move, it became VERY apparent that we needed more space.  Something had to be done.

Although we dearly would have loved to put a large extension on our home we didn't have the coin to do this.  Ben and Rhys were very much a BIG surprise, we were not planning any more children, let alone two more.  As I am the main breadwinner in our family and was on maternity leave, we weren't (aren't) flush with $$$$$.

Thank goodness when we were a little more flush, we stacked the coin away into our mortgage account so this gave us some options.

A big DOUBLE piece of LOVE to Greg's Mum and my Mum & Dad for giving us each an equal amount of $$$$ as a gift for birthdays/gifts.
THANK YOU FOR HELPING US OUT SO MUCH.
It has meant so, so much for our family because it helped a LOT with the cost of the room.

So here is the room in pictures:

This is what the back of the house originally looked like.  Greg built the awning after we first moved in - it was a concrete slab when I bought the house (no plants either).

Greg pulled the awning down and this is the start of the new room.

The roof is on!

Next we had to fix up the inside of the room.  Greg took out the old sliding door and window - WOW he did a brilliant job.  Then we got a builder to come in and  put in a new stacker door and gyprock the walls and Greg finished it all off.  Then we got carpet laid as it was quite cold on the floor (since it is a concrete floor).
