Little Michael - growing up fast
Ahhh, I'm tired - I guess one of the hazards of having a kids!!! I haven't slept through the night in 2 years (but whose counting :-) Michael isn't a good sleeper and I'm too soft to do tough love, cause he's most likely my last baby :-( I know how fast they grow up or sadly, how easy it is to lose them, so I'm NEVER, ever wishing it away - not for a second!!
The weekend was busy.
Up at 4.30am to go to the Sydney Markets. Wow what a fantastic place - it was pumping at 5.30am!! I am in a F&V co-op with a girl from mothers group and everyone has to have a couple of turns buying the F&V for the group. I have been once before (but not quite that early). Its a great experience, very busy and a bit scary due to all the forklifts and people everywhere, but so cheap and SO much food everywhere!!
Got home at about 10.30am after we had unpacked and sorted everything. I got a full to the brim washing basket full of F&V for $10. What a bargain. I got these flowers for $2.50 too :-)
Did some chores at home, then went out for dinner with the mothers group girls at a local restaurant. It was really lovely - I had pasta YUM. It was great to catch up with the girls as we hadn't all got together for ages, due to work and social demands. Another one of the girls is pregnant with her 3rd (so 2 out of our group so far are having another baby) which was great news.
Sunday was quiet - shopping for food - how exciting (can you hear the sarcastic tone?) LOL
Monday I worked Citizenship which went well. We wern't understaffed this time so I had time to do what I was meant to do (and didn't get abused by anyone thank goodness).
I think I am officially getting.... wait for it...... "OLD" boo hoo
I now have reading/computer glasses - I just put them on and OMG the words are so much clearer!! Actually they are pretty cool. Alex came over tonight and said they looked cool - and coming from her that is good because she is the queen of cool. I even heard her utter the words to her boyfriend as she was trying them on "Oh these will look good on me 'cause they look really good on Mum" Jemma said they looked good too. Greg just laughed at me - but getting a compliment from him is like getting blood from a stone actually, so he doesn't count in the care stakes. I'll take a pic when I am less tired looking.
Running around - action shot
Alex has decided that she wants to go and live in Darwin again, with her Dad. This is great news because it means I have somewhere to go for a holiday!! Her and Damien (BF) are going up after her 21st Birthday. She always said she would go back there and live for a while, so good on her. It's good for her to spend some time with her Dad too.
I am arranging a small gathering of family for her 21st Birthday and then she is having a small gathering of friends over that night for some drinks. Should be good.
Sad news that my sister Natalie's cat, Astrid, died today. Astrid is like her baby and she was a lovely cat - very friendly and cute. Astrid didn't like kids, one little bit. She used to hiss at Jemma, but then Jem got to an age where Astrid didn't think she was a kid anymore and she was friendly. But then I went and had Michael, so she had to hiss at him. Sadly she didn't get to see him grow up.
Greg with Astrid, she slept with us one night when we all stayed at Mum & Dads place
RIP little Astrid. Forrest will miss you a lot too. So will Nat. You will be missed little princess cat!!!
