Loving this song at the moment...

Tired........ but the world keeps turning

Little Michael - growing up fast

Ahhh, I'm tired - I guess one of the hazards of having a kids!!! I haven't slept through the night in 2 years (but whose counting :-)   Michael isn't a good sleeper and I'm too soft to do tough love, cause he's most likely my last baby :-(   I know how fast they grow up or sadly, how easy it is to lose them, so I'm NEVER, ever wishing it away - not for a second!!

The weekend was busy.

Up at 4.30am to go to the Sydney Markets.  Wow what a fantastic place - it was pumping at 5.30am!!  I am in a F&V co-op with a girl from mothers group and everyone has to have a couple of turns buying the F&V for the group.  I have been once before (but not quite that early).  Its a great experience,  very busy and a bit scary due to all the forklifts and people everywhere, but so cheap and SO much food everywhere!!

Got home at about 10.30am after we had unpacked and sorted everything.  I got a full to the brim washing basket full of F&V for $10.  What a bargain.  I got these flowers for $2.50 too :-)

Did some chores at home, then went out for dinner with the mothers group girls at a local restaurant.  It was really lovely - I had pasta YUM.  It was great to catch up with the girls as we hadn't all got together for ages, due to work and social demands.  Another one of the girls is pregnant with her 3rd (so 2 out of our group so far are having another baby) which was great news.

Sunday was quiet - shopping for food - how exciting (can you hear the sarcastic tone?) LOL

Monday I worked Citizenship which went well.  We wern't understaffed this time so I had time to do what I was meant to do (and didn't get abused by anyone thank goodness).

I think I am officially getting.... wait for it...... "OLD"     boo hoo

I now have reading/computer glasses - I just put them on and OMG the words are so much clearer!!  Actually they are pretty cool.  Alex came over tonight and said they looked cool - and coming from her that is good because she is the queen of cool.  I even heard her utter the words to her boyfriend as she was trying them on "Oh these will look good on me 'cause they look really good on Mum"  Jemma said they looked good too.  Greg just laughed at me - but getting a compliment from him is like getting blood from a stone actually, so he doesn't count in the care stakes.  I'll take a pic when I am less tired looking.

Running around - action shot

Alex has decided that she wants to go and live in Darwin again, with her Dad.  This is great news because it means I have somewhere to go for a holiday!!  Her and Damien (BF) are going up after her 21st Birthday.  She always said she would go back there and live for a while, so good on her.  It's good for her to spend some time with her Dad too.

I am arranging a small gathering of family for her 21st Birthday and then she is having a small gathering of friends over that night for some drinks.  Should be good.

Sad news that my sister Natalie's cat, Astrid, died today.  Astrid is like her baby and she was a lovely cat - very friendly and cute.  Astrid didn't like kids, one little bit.  She used to hiss at Jemma, but then Jem got to an age where Astrid didn't think she was a kid anymore and she was friendly.  But then I went and had Michael, so she had to hiss at him.  Sadly she didn't get to see him grow up.

Greg with Astrid, she slept with us one night when we all stayed at Mum & Dads place

RIP little Astrid.  Forrest will miss you a lot too.  So will Nat.  You will be missed little princess cat!!!

Finally a quiet weekend

Things have been madness here!!!  Too much going on.

Firstly, darling Michael gave Greg and I the gastro bug.  Greg and I had Thursday and Friday respectively off work to look after him after daycare called to say he was vomiting.  Thursday night was FUN (not).  Friday he was much better but not 100%.  By Saturday, all good.  I had to go out all morning and do stuff (hair, visiting friends, shopping etc), in the afternoon we all went down to the shops for a look.  After than, Greg went visiting and Michael and I were relaxing at home.  Whilst getting dinner on, I felt a bit off..........and it got worse and worse and worse.  Oh NO vomit bug!!!

Greg came home quickly, I went to bed...................ahhh relief...................oh NO Greg started feeling a bit off.......... and it got worse and worse and worse.  Oh NO vomit bug!!!!

It took Greg about a week to get over it.  I had to work on Monday afternoon at Citizenship.  Shouldn't have gone but didn't want to let them down as we were understaffed.  Got abused by a dickhead citizenship candidate who couldn't make the important event on time (I guess 'cause its not that important becoming an Australian Citizenship eh) and missed the oath - so of course its my fault and he is special so I should just give him his certificate blah blah.  I SO shouldn't have gone because I was really feeling like sh*t.

Mum minded Michael for me.  A couple of days later - oh NO - vomit bug.

Last weekend was fantastic.  We went to Courtney and Erin's wedding which was really beautiful and different.

Erin walked down the isle with his mum, while his dad sang a song with his guitar.
Courtney arrived at the ceremony on her horse.
Courtney walked down the isle with her mum and dad.
Jemma and Alex were bridesmaids (Courtney's sisters)
Ruby and Darcy walked down the isle too (they are Courtney and Erin's doggies - poor Buffy was meant to as well but Buffy died a couple of months ago - probaby due to a snake bite)

Here are some pics - our camera is stuffed too, we have to get another one as it is just chewing the batteries after about 5 pics.

We stayed the night at Riverside Oaks where the wedding was.  Room at the lodge was a bit dodgy but for $50 each incl buffet breakfast not bad.  Breakfast was YUMMO - perfect for Mothers Day!!!

Mum and Dad babysat for us - poor Dad, started feeling a bit off................. and it got worse and worse and worse........... oh NO ..... vomit bug!!!!!

This weekend was very quiet.  I went and did some gardening and Greg and I got lots of little jobs done that you put off for ever.  No batteries for the camera at the moment but maybe tomorrow.

Alex called on Saturday..... she was feeling a bit off................. and it got worse and worse and worse.........

YOU KNOW THE END TO THAT STORY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
